Lighter on Robinhood Chain

Integrating Lighter on Robinhood Chain: endpoints, chain ID, deposits, tiers and everything else that differs from Lighter mainnet.

Lighter also runs as a separate exchange on Robinhood Chain ("Lighter RH"). It uses the same transaction format, signer, REST API and WebSocket channels as Lighter mainnet, so everything in these docs applies. This page lists only what's different.

🚧

A separate exchange

Lighter RH is a separate exchange, not another market on Lighter mainnet. Accounts, balances, API keys, nonces and account indexes don't carry over, and a transaction signed for one is rejected by the other.

The full API reference for RH is at apidocs.rh.lighter.xyz.

To point the TypeScript quickstart at RH, change only the config:

export LIGHTER_URL=https://api.rh.lighter.xyz
export LIGHTER_CHAIN_ID=466324

The read-only WebSocket for restricted regions works the same: wss://api.rh.lighter.xyz/stream?readonly=true.

Deposits & withdrawals

Lighter mainnetLighter RH
Deposit chainEthereum (+ other chains via bridge)Robinhood Chain
Main collateralUSDCUSDG (6 decimals)
Other deposit assetsSee DepositsETH, USDC and other ERC-20s on Robinhood Chain
Deposit methodsContract deposit, bridgeContract deposit(_to, _assetIndex, _routeType, _amount), or an intent address: a persistent address that credits USDG on plain transfers, with no contract call
MinimumSee Deposits1 USDG (or equivalent) per deposit
Fast withdrawalsUSDCUSDG only, minimum 1 USDG

Secure withdrawals go through the contract's withdraw method, as on mainnet. Transfers to other addresses and fast withdrawals need the owner's L1 signature, as on mainnet (see When an L1 signature is required).

API keys

Indexes 0–3 and 157 are reserved for Lighter's web and mobile apps. Use 4–156 or 158–254 for your integration. Auth tokens, read-only tokens and maker-only keys work as on mainnet.

Account tiers

Premium tiers are based on your 14-day trading volume, not on staked LIT.

Standard (default)PlusPremium
Maker / taker fee0% / 0%0.005% / 0.005%0.0120% / 0.0350%, down to 0.0084% / 0.0245% at > $500M volume

REST (non-sendTx)60 req/min120,000 weighted/min24,000 weighted/min

Differences from mainnet to watch for:

  • Standard maker orders are not free of delay. On mainnet, post-only orders on Standard execute with a 0 ms delay; on RH they wait 200 ms.
  • Sub-accounts are capped at 8 on every tier (mainnet: 4 Standard, 16 Plus, 64 Premium).

Premium volume tiers:

Switching tiers works as on mainnet (changeAccountTier, 24-hour cooldown on downgrades).

Rate limits

REST weights on RH:

EndpointWeight
sendTx, sendTxBatch, nextNonce6
publicPools, txFromL1TxHash50
accountInactiveOrders, deposit/latest100
apikeys150
transferFeeInfo500
trades, recentTrades600
changeAccountTier, tokens, tokens/revoke, setAccountMetadata, notification/ack, createIntentAddress, fastwithdraw, referral/*3,000
tokens/create23,000
Others300

Note that trades costs 600 on RH (200 on mainnet).

Per-transaction-type limits are the same as on mainnet. The volume quota works the same way: one extra transaction per $2 of volume, starting at 1,000 and capped at 15,000,000, shared across the L1 address.

Checklist for supporting both

  • Keep base URL and chain ID together in one config object; never mix them.
  • Store account indexes, API keys and nonces per exchange.
  • Read market IDs and decimals from each exchange's orderBookDetails; don't reuse mainnet market IDs.
  • Label balances by collateral (USDC vs USDG).
